Defensive and Last Resort Tactics, Public Order Management (POM) and Control and Restraint

Defensive and last resort tactics courses are built in close liaison with the client ensuring that there is a valid need for such training and that the taught application is appropriate.

Programs all include use of force legislation and relevant internal policy. All programs come with negotiation and essential dialogue components that support the physical elements as well as a promotion of appropriate mindset. These programs are not just about the physical as philosophy and thinking play a major role. Program duration is dependent upon client needs with some courses running a full 8 hours, however, modules are often included within front line training programs such as those delivered to nursing teams and flight attendants. Where required control and restraint is also taught including mechanical restraints and where an organisation has a legal provision for the carriage of impact weapons PCC delivers this training all integrated with communication.

The public order management (POM) courses are designed to assist law enforcement agencies and large organisations where specialist skills are required within unique working environments to bring calm after periods of disturbance. PCC offer intensive programs.

Pro-Com offers both level 1 and level 2 intensive programs up to 6 days in duration covering aspects such as dispersal, containment, isolation and crowd psychology. These programs can be delivered on or off-shore.

  • Level 1 – Defensive: of personnel or infrastructure
  • Level 2 – Dispersal: taking the initiative from the crowd

These courses integrate with and employ Front Line Adaptive Communication (FLAC) principles.

Three frequently asked questions when planning your program.

Am I able to tailor a training program for my company?

Yes. PCC works closely with the client from the outset to design and build programs that suit the exact operational and workplace challenges faced with attention to the working environment, specific internal policy and with compliance regarding relevant legislation.  This process starts with an online meeting and brief Q&A process and where required, a visit to the workplace and interviews of key staff and finally program build. Once a pilot course is delivered we enter a refinement phase followed by post-delivery participant evaluation.

Are your training programs available in my state/territory?

Yes. PCC deliver training programs all across Australia and even extend to some off-shore locations. Procom has conducted training works in PNG, Nauru and on Christmas Island where our training was visited by the former Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

The PCC training contingent is a highly mobile team and regularly attend to clients in both metro and regional locations around the country, often catering for up to 6 courses per day. The team all possess training kit including IT and will set up in location and venue as provided by the client. Our electronic workbooks run with mobile WIFI to feed participant data at conclusion of training. Virtual reality and gamified training tools are also portable and carried with the team if this is optioned in training.

What do I receive when my training is complete?

A signed certificate of completion for the participant and a post training and participant evaluation report for the client. Participant attendance and evaluation scores are collected at the time of training via QR code.

PCC partners with a registered training organisation to issue nationally recognised units of competency and statements of attainment against its mapped training products should this be required.

This training has given me more confidence to manage occupational violence.

Great engagement. Do’s and Don’ts – contingency – physical state – talk naturally, think tactically landed well as an immediate response plan for me.

IBAC,

The training was super engaging. Great facilitators who really brought the content to life through a mix of slides, VR and hands-on role playing. I really liked the way it was so tailored to the current context we’re working in, with really relevant scenarios. Great learning opportunity for me and my team.
